The study is titled "Physiological Effects of a Technology-Based Music-Making Program in Skilled Nursing Residents," and evaluated the effectiveness in elevating heart rate and producing a relaxation response using Beamz as a music making intervention. The research conclusions recognize the diversity of Beamz product uses and its potential to serve a variety of therapeutic goals.

This study, which uses the Beamz interactive music system, was published in the volume 12 number 3 issue and conducted by members of the Department of Rehabilitation Services at Temple University: Brigid Lyons, BS, CTRS; Rhonda Nelson, PhD, CTRS, Associate Professor; and Pei-Chun Hsieh, PhD, CTRS, Assistant Professor.
