LOS ANGELES, CA--(Marketwired - Apr 22, 2014) - AdColony, the leading mobile video marketing platform, today announced that iM5, a future-oriented social platform focused on crowdsourcing ideas to inspire real-life action, is the recipient of AdColony's SXSWi campaign awarding $10,000 of free media to support the company's mobile marketing efforts.
This March in Austin, AdColony astronaut street teams canvassed downtown hot spots to promote AdColony's "Liberate Your Audiences from Poor Mobile Video" initiative for festival goers. The guerilla marketing was aimed at awarding one company a free mobile video advertising campaign worth $10,000 to tap into the power of video across AdColony's expansive in-app network to promote their brand for free.
From greeting the SXSW Opening Night Party attendees at ACL Live Moody Theatre to handing out free pizza at the Capital Factory, the AdColony astronauts represented AdColony's iconic space-theme branding to over 9,000 festival goers. While in Austin, AdColony also launched its native mobile video advertising solution, Instant-Feed™ HD Video, which delivers auto-play, HD brand video ads directly within app content feeds.
iM5 stood out as a top candidate to harness the power of mobile video advertising through AdColony's promotion. The startup, which launched in beta at SXSWi 2014, is a collaborative social network for doers. The iM5 app connects people and empowers them to share actionable ideas and suggestions based on common interests, and it inspires them to take real life action on the things they are passionate about.
"iM5 was a clear choice due to their enthusiasm about using video and what they could do to drive brand awareness and high quality downloads as they launch their new social app," said Will Kassoy, CEO of AdColony. "We work with a range of clients and partners from Fortune 500 brands to indie app developers, and we're excited to help support iM5's marketing efforts -- we know mobile video will make a big impact."
"Interacting with AdColony's astronauts at SXSW was memorable and fun," said iM5 Executive Co-Founder Tom Klein. "The fact that iM5 now has a $10K opportunity to launch and promote our app with mobile video across the hottest iOS & Android apps in the world is a mission I can totally support. It is a huge opportunity to get our message out there and see what resonates in the market."
iM5's mission to be the most progressive and dynamic social network where ideas inspire people to act also seemed like a positive sentiment to contemplate as AdColony reflects on the innocent victims affected by the tragedy at this year's SXSW festival. While many brands and technologies like AdColony and iM5 embrace and rely on SXSWi as a fun, uniting and powerful event for the global tech and marketing communities, it would be remiss not to acknowledge the sobering and tragic accident that spoiled the memory of this year's event in Austin.
In honor of the victims and their families, AdColony has made a donation to The SXSW Cares Fund (#SXSWCares). AdColony encourages any and all companies who benefit from Austin's SXSW annual event to support the cause.
