Trex(R) Provides Decking for National D-Day Memorial

WINCHESTER, VA--(Marketwired - May 02, 2014) - In Bedford, Virginia, the National D-Day Memorial stands as a powerful, permanent tribute to the valor, fidelity and sacrifice of D-Day participants who started the march against Nazi Germany, according to the National D-Day Memorial Foundation. As the nation prepares to mark the 70^th anniversary of the invasion of Normandy on June 6, 1944, the site is undergoing a restoration to include durable materials that will last for decades and contribute to the importance of this national landmark. 

This spring, more than 1,700 feet of Trex Transcend decking was donated and installed as benches surrounding the Memorial's central plaza. Bedford was selected as the site for the D-Day memorial because the town suffered the greatest per capita loss of life during the invasion of any town in the country, according to the National D-Day Memorial Foundation.
