SAN DIEGO, CA--(Marketwired - May 7, 2014) - DB Networks, an innovator of behavioral analysis in database security, today announced that it is partnering with well-known hacking expert and IT security trainer Joe McCray on a live online web app and database hacking workshop on May 22. The event is free and will run from 1 pm EDT to 3 pm EDT.
During the event, Joe McCray will walk attendees through attacks of several web applications with various defensive mechanisms in place (from secure coding frameworks, to intrusion detection systems, to web application firewalls, and more). Attendees will discover which attacks get through the security defenses and which ones are immediately detected. Attendees are encouraged to launch their own attacks against the various web applications.
"This is a unique live online event where participants can connect via a VPN and can run any tool they like against Joe's target web applications," said Brett Helm, Chairman and CEO of DB Networks. "Attendees will learn the process of penetration testing web applications from a true industry expert, and see how various security products are able to respond. Joe is a well-known industry expert penetration tester, and attendees are in for a real treat in this session."
"I'm looking forward to this unique on-line hacking event," said Joe McCray, CEO of Strategic Security. "Unlike traditional and often boring webcasts where everything is completely scripted, the outcome of this interactive hacking webinar is actually unknown. I'm certain this webinar will be an in-depth educational experience for all attendees."

The workshop will be recorded and the video will be available for replay for workshop registrants, and as an archived webcast for those who cannot attend the live event.

About DB Networks
DB Networks® is innovating behavioral analysis technology in the field of database security. Developed for organizations that need to protect their data from advanced attacks, including Zero-Day attacks, DB Networks offers effective countermeasures against SQL injection attacks. Database attacks happen rapidly -- in a matter of minutes -- and bypass traditional perimeter security measures. DB Networks' unique approach uses behavioral analysis technology to automatically learn each application's proper SQL statement behavior. Any SQL statement dispatched from the application that deviates from the established behavioral model immediately raises an alarm as a possible attack.
