Re-think, Re-invent, and Re-connect with Scott Bedbury, Kirstine Stewart and Geoffrey Moore at the 2014 Tech Leadership Conference


WATERLOO, ON, May 8, 2014 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- The 2014 Tech Leadership Conference will bring together world-class thought leaders with the best talent in the Waterloo Region tech sector for a day dedicated to re-thinking old assumptions, re-inventing businesses and re-connecting with important contacts.

The conference, on May 29, will feature an impressive lineup of speakers, breakout sessions and presentations. Author Geoffrey Moore will discuss his latest work, Escape Velocity, about the challenges large enterprises face when they enter a new business line. Kirstine Stewart, managing director of Twitter Canada, will discuss a new style of leadership for the modern workplace. And Scott Bedbury, the creative genius behind the branding of Nike and Starbucks, will explain how to turn great products into iconic brands.

Kevin Newman of CTV News will also host the 'big conversation' with Geoffrey Moore, change management specialist Dr. Anita Sands and former Clerk of the Privy Council and current vice-chairman of BMO Financial Group, the Honourable Kevin Lynch. Breakout sessions will focus on key issues such as cyber-security, corporate strategy and culture, change leadership and the elusive quest to hold a 'no-BS meeting'.

Communitech's Tech Leadership Conference is the largest one-day gathering of tech professionals in Waterloo Region. It brings together more than 600 people from private industry, startups, the investment community, academia and government. This year's conference also features the Emerging Technologies Pavilion, featuring ten startups providing solutions for medium and large enterprises, the Titan Café for increased networking opportunities and a unique partnership with Tesla Motors.

The Tech Leadership Conference will be held May 29 at Bingemans Conference Centre, 425 Bingemans Centre Drive, Kitchener, beginning at 7:45 a.m. with breakfast and registration and closing at 4:45 p.m. following a networking reception.
