NeuWave Medical, Inc. Names Daniel J. Sullivan as President and CEO

MADISON, Wis., May 12, 2014 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- NeuWave Medical, Inc., a leading provider of microwave energy-based solutions for the interventional and surgical markets, announced that it has named Daniel J. Sullivan as President and Chief Executive Officer.

Mr. Sullivan brings more than 35 years of experience as a medical device executive and entrepreneur to NeuWave. He was recently the President and CEO of SuperDimension, Inc., and led them from their early commercial expansion through their acquisition by Covidien Ltd. in 2012 for approximately $300 million.

Mr. Sullivan began his career at American Hospital Supply, Inc. and his entrepreneurial start at SCIMED Life Systems, Inc. At SCIMED, Dan was Vice President of Sales and Marketing, and a key member of the executive team that built the company from zero to a market leading position in the field of angioplasty and interventional cardiology. SCIMED was sold to Boston Scientific, Inc. and remains a significant part of the company. Dan was subsequently involved as CEO, co-founder and Board member of numerous successful med-tech start-ups that have either sold or become public, including Vascular Science and Atritech which were acquired by St. Jude Medical and Boston Scientific respectively, and Vascular Solutions which remains publicly held.

"I'm very excited to join NeuWave," Dan said. "The company has industry leading platform technology, with potential in a variety of disease states. The company products have been rapidly accepted by leading institutions, and are primed for broad growth based on their clinical effectiveness and minimally invasive procedures, which is a highly desirable option for patients, hospitals and payers."

"We are thrilled to have Dan join NeuWave," said Scott Cramer, Chairman of NeuWave's Board of Directors. "His experience leading high-growth medical businesses to market leadership makes him an ideal choice to help us realize the potential of microwave ablation and the other solutions that NeuWave offers patients and physicians."
