HENDERSON, NV--(Marketwired - May 13, 2014) - New Song Lutheran Church and Christian Academy is thrilled to announce the receipt of a $1,000,000 private donation to be used for the construction of the Christian Academy's future school building. This donation sets the stage for the future expansion of New Song's facilities and school.
"This gift provides a major boost in the ongoing development of our school," said Pastor Marta Poling-Goldenne. "It sets in motion a process that will result in a new school building by 2016 or 2017." New Song's vision is to develop an Academy that will offer instruction from preschool through the fifth grade.
New Song Christian Academy operates as a ministry of New Song Lutheran Church, located at 1291 Cornet Drive, near the entrance of Henderson's Anthem community.
New Song Christian Academy offers instruction for 57 students, preschool through first grade. The Academy has been in operation for five years and has served more than 300 families with their needs for preschool and elementary education.
The school, whose motto is "Shaping Your Child's Heart, Soul, and Mind," provides a positive learning environment with gifted teachers and aides at a low teacher-to-student ratio. Music, arts, and a Christian education are integral to the basic foundational curriculum students receive as part of their education.
Sandi Lin Moster, the parent of a current kindergartner, expressed appreciation for New Song Christian Academy's small class size. She said, "It's wonderful to send my daughter to a school where I can interact with the teachers on a daily basis. I get insight into her daily activities and feedback on her progress. A small class size also allows me to know each student and parent. It's a comfort knowing who surrounds your child every day."
New Song Christian Academy is already a highly respected institution for parochial education. Parents of current students have expressed strong appreciation for the teaching quality, and for the sensitivity to children with special health needs.
First grade parent Alexandra Peterson said, "My son is thriving at New Song Christian Academy. He has multiple health issues and New Song made it possible for him to attend school. The school is a safe, loving environment that academically challenges my child. I can't thank New Song enough for loving my child and helping him to be the best he can be."
