Root Inc. Employees Win First and Second Place at the Tree City 50 Hour Film Festival

SYLVANIA, OH--(Marketwired - May 14, 2014) -  Root Inc., the strategy execution consulting company, today announced four of its employees -- Dave Ayling, Chad Dankert, Brent Howard, and Josh Lightle -- placed first and second place in the Tree Film Festival, which took place in Sylvania, Ohio, in late April. All are members of Root's cinematic storytelling team delivering award-winning employee engagement videos to Root clients. In the past the team has won several awards, including top prize in their category at the Telly Awards.

During this year's festival, the first place winner -- the musical Maddie, created by Howard and his partner -- zoomed in on a frantic moment in a young woman's life: the first date with that special guy. Stalled, by Ayling, Dankert, and Lightle, features a worker in a bathroom stall facing a hostage situation when a mysterious man in the stall next to him refuses to give him toilet paper. The film also won the Audience Choice Award.

Hosted by the Sylvania Community Arts Commission, the Tree City Film Festival supports local, regional, and national filmmakers in the pursuit of their art, and seeks to develop a committed, cultivated film audience in the community through education, entertainment, and participation.
