DALLAS, May 14, 2014 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Rapidly making its way to the New York Times best-seller List, "Licensed to Lie: Exposing Corruption in the Department of Justice" (Brown Books Publishing Group) by Sidney Powell, is a "remarkable and frightening revelation of surprises," says New York attorney, Ira Sorkin. "One after the other, about how a group of purported elite prosecutors wrapped themselves in a flag, hid evidence, misled me and my co-counsel in the Enron barge case, and in the process, destroyed countless lives while a number of federal judges turned a blind eye to their egregious prosecutorial misconduct."
Kirkus Reviews raves, "Licensed to Lie" assembles a stunning argument for the old adage, "nothing succeeds like failure."
Gripping courtroom scenes draw readers into this compelling fact-based story giving them a frightening perspective on justice and who should be accountable when evidenced is withheld. "Licensed to Lie" is the true story of the strong-arm, illegal, and unethical tactics used by headline-grabbing federal prosecutors in their narcissistic pursuit of power.
"Look for yourself," Powell says. "The evidence is there in black, white, and yellow." Its scope reaches from the US Department of Justice to the US Senate to the White House and is a scathing attack on prosecutors, judges, and all those who turned a blind eye to injustices in the aftermath of the Enron collapse. The ramifications continue today as this corrupt cabal of former prosecutors now populates powerful political positions."
"A riveting, profound and brutally informative read," says Tricia, Reader Reviews, Amazon.com. Brilliantly written, "'Licensed to Lie' takes readers on a real life journey of Powell's unyielding commitment to uphold the law, and all that it stands for, the quest for facts, knowledge and truth to support the law. She has the gumption to name names and call out those who still hold power without holding back. This story makes one think about the essence of our American freedom, our rights as citizens, and the corrupt powers that control it."
"'Licensed to Lie' is so well written and researched that the story makes for a stunning read. Powell has done the law and every citizen a great favor by calling out an unholy practice of government attorneys." ––ForeWord Reviews.
Hugh Aynesworth, renowned journalist, historian, author, and four-time Pulitzer Prize finalist said, "I have covered hundreds of court cases over the years and have witnessed far too often the kind of duplicity and governmental heavy-handedness Ms. Powell describes in her well-written book, 'Licensed to Lie.'"
