The partnership is fueled by BMC Control-M for Hadoop, a powerful, easy-to-use big data management framework that simplifies the creation of big data applications, automates batch processing for extremely large data sets, and accelerates integration of Hadoop and other business-critical enterprise application workflows. BMC Control-M for Hadoop is a purpose-built version of its market-leading workload automation software.
To strengthen the partnership, BMC announced that effective immediately BMC Control-M for Hadoop now supports Hortonworks Data Platform, the industry's only 100-percent open source enterprise Hadoop distribution. The combined software offering works to empower customers with big data management products and services to help drive their businesses forward. Big data analysis is expected to become an $11 billion software and services market this year, growing at 50 percent annually, according to consultancy Wikibon.
