Acres Mill Animal Hospital, an animal hospital in Canton, announced that a new veterinarian has joined the practice. Dr. Emad Rafla has been practicing veterinary medicine for more than 14 years in Atlanta. His specific area of expertise is veterinary dermatology.
"The veterinary team at Acres Mill Animal Hospital is excited to welcome Dr. Emad Rafla to our practice," said veterinarian Dr. Michael Good. "His commitment to preventative care and passion for personalized service are a natural complement to our veterinary practice. Additionally, his substantial experience in veterinary dermatology will allow our practice to offer enhanced specialty services to our pets and their owners."
Dr. Emad Rafla, who is originally from Egypt, graduated in 1988 from the College of Veterinary Medicine at Alexandria University. In 2000, Dr. Rafla moved with his wife and daughter to Alpharetta, Georgia, where he has lived for the last 14 years. In 2010, Dr. Rafla received the CFVG (educational commission for foreign veterinary graduated) certificate from the American Veterinary Medical Association (AVMA).
Dr. Rafla's specific area of expertise is veterinary dermatology, which includes diagnosing and treating skin conditions in pets, as well as the management of allergies in pets.
"Allergies can have a serious impact on a pet's quality of life," said Dr. Rafla. "Allergies are also extremely difficult to diagnose. In fact, many pet owners mistaken common allergy symptoms, like scratching and itching, for normal behavior. I have been focused closely on veterinary dermatology for more than two decades. I understand just how challenging it can be to diagnose skin condition and allergies, and am committed to helping pets through better skin condition management."
In addition to specialty services like veterinary dermatology, the Canton animal hospital also provides comprehensive veterinary wellness care. This includes pet vaccinations, wellness exams, and spay/neuter surgery. Wellness plans are also available in order to help pet owners afford preventative care.
"One of the reasons I am excited to join the veterinary care team at Acres Mill Animal Hospital is because of their outstanding commitment to preventative care," said Dr. Rafla. "I am looking forward to continuing the animal hospital's long-standing commitment to providing personalized, high quality veterinary care."
