ZoomSystems Launches the ZoomShop V1 Automated Retail Shrink Solution at FMI Connect 2014

SAN FRANCISCO, CA, June 11, 2014 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- ZoomSystems, the global leader in automated retail, will be unveiling its ZoomShop V1 machine this week at FMI Connect, the annual Food Management Institute show, to be held at McCormick Place in Chicago, June 11-13. Attendees will get a hands-on opportunity to experience this technology, proven to increase sales, enhance the consumer experience and eliminate consumer theft.

Considered by many to be the food industry's pinnacle event, FMI Connect is expected to draw 15,000 retailers, wholesalers and their trading partners to Chicago. The San Francisco-based ZoomSystems will showcase its in-store retail solution at booth 4350 within the technology pavilion.

The ZoomShop V1 is the world's first in-aisle point-of-sale defensive merchandising solution that eliminates consumer shrink while enhancing the consumer experience and increasing sales. Within the ZoomShop user interface, products can be compared side by side to educate consumers and encourage trade-ups to premium products. Similar to online shopping, the interface also provides opportunities for up-sells and cross-sells leading to increased basket sizes.

The automated retail machines have been launched at a national grocery chain in Southern California, with a national drug chain to follow later this month. Retail results have included double-digit increases in sales and average sales prices, and the elimination of consumer and Organized Retail Crime (ORC) shrink. The first machines will be used to sell razor cartridges, one of the industry's highest shrink items, however can also be used for other high shrink products like OTC medication, antacids, printer ink, video games, etc.

"We're excited to introduce the FMI Connect audience to the latest generation of the ZoomShop V1. We have used our many years of experience in automated retail to create the first defensive merchandising solution that increases sales by improving on-shelf availability while protecting the product from theft." says Jack Lawrence, ZoomSystems President and CEO.
