OAKLAND, Calif., June 17, 2014 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Alameda Health System (AHS) has announced the appointment of Terry Lightfoot as the Director of Government and Community Relations. Mr. Lightfoot will serve as a liaison with elected officials, monitoring the latest updates to health care laws while expanding AHS's community engagement.
"Terry's extensive background coordinating complex partnerships in both the health care and public works sector will greatly benefit AHS," said Carladenise Edwards, Chief Strategy Officer of AHS. "His knowledge of the East Bay and existing relationships with government and community stakeholders will help us solidify our role as a trusted advisor on important health care issues."
Most recently, Mr. Lightfoot served as Community Relations and Outreach Manager for L. Luster & Associates, responsible for the Community Outreach Plan that supported the Alameda-Contra Costa Transit District's $178 million Bus Rapid Transit Project. He also served as the Public Participation Manager for HNTB where he worked to strengthen and improve relationships in support of a variety of construction and light rail projects in Los Angeles and the Bay Area. Additionally, he led government, community and media relations as the Public Affairs Director for Kaiser Permanente and has served as the Director of Outreach Communications for the University of California.
He started his career as a journalist covering local government and politics at the Modesto Bee. Mr. Lightfoot earned a Bachelor's of Science in Journalism from Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo.
