National Exhibition of Outstanding Swiss Energy Innovations Debuts in Boston

BOSTON, MA--(Marketwired - Jun 18, 2014) - Swiss energy innovators will meet Boston's green technology hub this summer as the Swiss Federal Office of Energy and swissnex Boston during the world premiere of an exhibition of Watt d'Or award winners. Taking place at Northeastern University from July 11 to September 14, 2014, the exhibition will showcase information and products honored with a Watt d'Or. Established in 2007, this award given by the Swiss Federal Office of Energy recognizes outstanding Swiss energy projects that offer a significant benefit for society. Watt d'Or awards recognize inspiring projects that are helping to build a more sustainable future through energy innovations that include mobility, renewable energy, building efficiencies, energy technologies, and systems and appliances.

In support of its mission to build stronger relationships between scientists, entrepreneurs and innovators in Massachusetts and Switzerland, this summer-long celebration will feature a public exhibition of 25 past Watt d'Or winning projects, and will begin with a reception and summit on topics related to energy, clean tech and innovation. Private and public scheduled events currently include:

  • Opening Ceremony honoring Watt d'Or winners; attendees to include Swiss Energy Minister Doris Leuthard, head of the Swiss Federal Department of the Energy, Environment, Transport, and Communications, and former president of Switzerland
  • US-Swiss Energy Innovation Seminar with Federal Councillor Doris Leuthard and more than 20 presentations from Switzerland and Boston-area CEOs; and academic presentations from MIT, Northeastern University, Swiss peers, and internationally-recognized sustainability experts
