The integrations enable mutual customers to realize greater business value from their IT service catalog, CMDB, asset management and Software License Optimization solutions -- enhancing the overall value of the IT Services team to the enterprise.

FlexNet Manager Suite includes BMC Atrium Discovery patterns that broaden configuration discovery to collect additional data required for identification, management and optimization of applications that use complex license models, such as IBM WebSphere PVU licenses. These patterns target software file and package evidence, hardware and user properties.
This enhanced evidence is consumed by FlexNet Manager Suite, ensuring that the software inventory it assembles is comprehensive, accurate and effective for delivering continual compliance and Software License Optimization. For example, license models frequently are based on an application's underlying hardware platform. Additionally, key operational functions, such as chargeback and show back, are centered on the person or organization that is using a given piece of hardware. Tying together rich hardware asset information from BMC Atrium Discovery enhances the knowledge base that FlexNet Manager Suite uses to deliver optimization.
The FlexNet Manager Suite integration with BMC Atrium CMDB includes federated access for comprehensive license analytics and reporting. Additionally, the CMDB is populated with the list of normalized software products per device by FlexNet Manager Suite.
