DOYLESTOWN, Pa., July 24, 2014 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- The Board of Directors of Anthony & Sylvan Pools Corporation today announced that Stuart D. Neidus will retire as the Company's Chief Executive Officer, effective August 31, 2014. He will remain a member of the Board. The Board also announced that it has elected Mark Koide to succeed Mr. Neidus as CEO and become a Director of the Company. Mr. Koide has served as Anthony & Sylvan's Vice President of Marketing since 2013.
Mr. Neidus said: "Thanks to the dedication and sacrifice of all the employees across Anthony & Sylvan, we have emerged from the financial downturn as a very strong company. A&S is well-positioned for increasing profitability and growth. Given the progress we have made in the last few years, I have concluded that now is the right time for someone else to take the helm of A&S.
"After 17 years as CEO, I will truly miss the wonderful people throughout this organization. But I know that Mark and the A&S management team will continue to build on the strong foundation we have laid and upon A&S's industry leading position."
Mr. Neidus said that he could not be leaving the company in better hands. "Mark's record of achievement and leadership demonstrates that he is the right person to tackle the many opportunities that lie ahead. Elevating Mark is a clear indication of our commitment to drive revenue and build market share to support the continued growth of each of our many businesses. We are very pleased to have someone with his extensive marketing and broad business skills lead A&S in these exciting times."
Thomas B. Waldin, a member of the Board of Directors, said: "We respect Stu's decision to retire. During his 20+ year career, Mr. Koide has shown a proven ability to develop and establish a strong market presence for each of his past employers. He most recently was the Chief Executive Officer and Chief Marketing Officer for Orthofeet Inc. Prior to Orthofeet, Mr. Koide was employed by such well known household names as Mars Incorporated, Pepperidge Farm/Campbell Soup Company, and Kraft Foods. He received his BA in International Studies from Brown University and a Master of Management, Marketing and International Business from the J.L. Kellogg Graduate School of Management. Mr. Koide brings to A&S an extensive background in marketing, strategic business development and executive management. He and his wife, Karen, live in Mendham Township, NJ, with their three children.
