Voting
Starting August 20, 2014, nominations will close and the popular voting frenzy will begin! Up to six locations will take home the honours, either as People's Choice Winners based on overall numbers of votes, or as the Grand Prize Winners based on planning excellence.
"The public gets very involved in promoting and cheering on their favourite places; the competition gets intense. Canadians are very proud of their communities and we love to see how engaged they get," says Michael Gordon, President of the Canadian Institute of Planners (CIP) which hosts the competition.
Winning nominators will receive fabulous prize packages, which will include a combination of $500 gift certificates from VIA Rail Canada, Kodak ProPix cameras, Acer Iconia tablets and Tim Hortons gift cards. CIP is honoured to have VIA Rail Canada and Tim Hortons as this year's official prize sponsors!
Each Grand Prize-winning place will receive a beautiful steel plaque to mark the place for all to see and enjoy in the years to come!
The best places won't win unless they're nominated, so get your nominations in before August 19th.
