The syslog-ng Premium Edition enables enterprises to collect, filter, normalize, forward, and store log messages from across their IT environment. Key new features of syslog-ng Premium Edition 5F1
The latest version of syslog-ng Premium Edition adds support for the popular NoSQL database MongoDB. With a schema-free, document-oriented architecture, MongoDB is commonly used as the backend database for applications and provides a flexible means of storing unstructured log messages.

Version 5F1 also includes support for JavaScript Object Notation (JSON), a text-based open-standard format that is commonly used to transmit data between servers and web applications. With this added support, syslog-ng can now parse JSON messages, receiving structured log messages from such applications, storing them, and converting them to other formats if needed. Additionally, syslog-ng can now convert log messages from other formats or selected name-value pairs directly into JSON format.

The API, with a REST-based architecture, allows users to access and query the log messages stored on SSB from remote applications. Large organizations typically need to analyze log data with a variety of applications for different purposes. The new API enables organizations to seamlessly integrate SSB with third party applications.
