WINTER PARK, FL--(Marketwired - Aug 15, 2014) - The Ravaudage development team announced today that after working for many months with the City of Winter Park, it has been determined that Ravaudage will not be the new home for a proposed sports complex. After much deliberation, it was decided that the complex was not in the best interest for the residents of Winter Park at this time.
Nearly 18 months ago, Winter Park contacted the Ravaudage development team and expressed interest in Ravaudage as the home for a new, upscale sports complex. The development group spent hundreds of hours working hand-in-hand with City staff in an effort to determine the best location of the sports complex within the community, as well as to prove or disprove its economic feasibility.
"The City recently determined that the complex is not economically viable at this point in time and we defer to their expertise and judgment on this issue," said a partner in the Ravaudage Development Team. "Ultimately, we want what is in the best interest of Winter Park's residents."
Over the past 13 years, the Ravaudage development team has assembled and acquired over 200 individual properties, many of which were in disrepair, with the vision of creating Ravaudage -- a 70 acre, senior-friendly, mixed-use community located in the City of Winter Park. The development team added, "with or without baseball, we will continue our hard work and dedication to this prime piece of land and will work with the City of Winter Park to do what's right for its residents."
