Global Entertainment Media Announces Successful Demonstration of Proprietary "i-HUB" Set-Top Box

Los Angeles, Aug. 19, 2014 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Global Entertainment Holdings (OTC:  GBHL) has announced that its subsidiary, Global Entertainment Media (GEM), completed a successful demonstration of the i-HUB set-top operating device, a new convergence technology system  that  enables  internet  users  and  content  viewers  to  easily  find  and  view  countless  hours  of programming and media content available throughout the internet with just a few "clicks", or using voice commands.

The Florida demonstration was witnessed by Kirk Kirkpatrick, CEO of MDS America, one of the leading MVDDS  (Multichannel  Video  and  Data  Distribution  Service)  technology  companies  with  interests throughout the world including a 700 channel system in the UAE serving Dubai and Abu Dhabi.

Following the demonstration, Mr. Kirkpatrick stated, "What I witnessed at your demonstration has instilled me with great confidence that GEM's set top device not only performs well, but that it will indeed efficiently combine content and technology at a far superior level and lower price than any potential competitors as a result of GEM's unique capability of a "back channel" enabling users to seek and source all forms of Internet content and "pull" such content down to the viewer's monitor/TV.   I was also impressed the look and feel of your electronic program guide that is embedded within the HUB system to enable the user to search the entire web for specific content".

The partnership with MDS America ensures GBHL will cover a wide footprint, capable of reaching almost one-third of U.S. households. MDS America has the FCC license to provide wireless MVDDS for the State of New Mexico, as well as the licenses to broadcast data and content in 79 other selected markets in the US.

The technology behind the proprietary "i-HUB" Set -Top Box (STB) is a powerful Intel (i-3) processor, alongside 4 GB of ram, and a large 1 TB hard drive for Digital Video Recording (DVR) storage. Additionally, the STB features all major music channels in HD audio, while providing seamless navigation with a Solid State Drive that provides no latency.  The "i-HUB" provides a plethora of user-friendly functions including: voice activated search functioning, Bluetooth/WiFi remote options, and a managed "back end" which provides remote fixes & superior support for the multitude of advanced functions the "i-HUB" integrates.

The "i-HUB" is a game changer and will provide an invaluable convenience in respect to distributing an advanced variety of entertainment. Gary Rasmussen, Chief Executive Office of Global Universal Entertainment stated, "Our next objective is to field test a consumer version of i-Hub using selected MDS America's subscribers to their flagship MVDDS operation in Albuquerque, NM, to be followed by an extensive rollout throughout the country and, ultimately, worldwide. It is part of Global Entertainment's planned diversification into delivery of media content, as well as production of compelling and sought-after video entertainment." This product will be a prominent contender; distributing limitless entertainment options that utilize an extensive global database, and cost-effective delivery platform.  Unlike traditional providers, Global Entertainment Media plans to kill the "static" with its revolutionary "i-HUB".
