Session Descriptions
In these sessions, Mohammed will demonstrate how Cassandra can be used to build a multi-tenant solution for analyzing operational data from Internet of Complex Things (IoCT), which includes complex systems such as computing, storage, networking and medical devices. Mohammed will discuss why Glassbeam migrated from a traditional RDBMS-based architecture to a Cassandra-based platform and describe those challenges and solutions as a result. In addition, Mohammed will share Glassbeam's next-gen architecture and overall lessons learned.

Session Description
Spark provides fault-tolerant in-memory cluster computing for large-scale data processing. This hands-on session will provide an overview of Spark and various components in the Spark ecosystem including Spark SQL, Spark Streaming and Spark MLlib. In addition, participants will have the opportunity to write and run Spark apps in Scala.
About the Speaker
Mohammed Guller is the application architect for Glassbeam. His expertise is in big data, analytics and cloud-based products. He has more than 18 years of experience leading the development of several products from concept to release. Prior to joining Glassbeam, Mohammed was the founder of TrustRecs, a social recommendation application, and a former client executive at IBM. Mohammed has an MBA from University of California, Berkeley.
