CULVER CITY, CA--(Marketwired - September 05, 2014) - SCALABLE Network Technologies, Inc. (SCALABLE), a leader in wireless network design and optimization tools, announced today that EDU versions of the latest QualNet® and EXata® network simulation platforms are now available to graduate students and professors for advanced research and education in network architecture and protocol design. "SCALABLE has deep roots in the academic research community and remains committed to partnering with universities and research institutions around the world to further both the science and application of communications simulation," stated Rajive Bagrodia, SCALABLE founder and CTO. "We encourage university students, faculty, researchers and scientists to utilize the EDU versions of our commercial tools to advance the theory and technology of network simulation to solve real-world problems."
The EDU-specific versions offer all of the functionality of the standard commercial products, which are widely used by large enterprises and governmental institutions around the world. QualNet simulates network and protocol behavior in a faster-than-real-time mode enabling multiple scenarios to be executed quickly. EXata adds a real-time system-in-the-loop emulation interface option, which allows live hardware and applications to be seamlessly integrated with the virtual network models for advanced operational analysis. The products include a rich graphical user interface for model building, and a comprehensive statistical database and reporting system for analyzing network scenarios. The EDU versions of both QualNet and EXata support virtual network models of up to fifty nodes. EXata EDU supports two operational host system-in-the-loop connections. Both versions include the Developer, Multimedia & Enterprise and Wireless Model Libraries, along with the corresponding source code.
SCALABLE's EDU Program provides qualified students or university projects engaged in not-for-profit academic research or study a single-seat license of QualNet or EXata. Professors who intend to use the applications for classroom teaching can receive a 30-seat license. In the US, EDU licenses for QualNet are available at no charge. Licenses for EXata in the US and both products internationally are available for a nominal fee. The licenses are valid for a one (1) year term. Support for the EDU versions is available via the online SCALABLE Community Forum, which provides an interactive support network to help users maximize the benefits of the QualNet and EXata simulation platforms free of charge.
