2014 High Horsepower Summit Kicks Off in New Orleans

More than 2,000 industry leaders across various HHP sectors are expected to convene at North America's largest conference and expo on natural gas fueling, engines and technologies.

NEW ORLEANS, Oct. 7, 2014 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- The 2014 High Horsepower (HHP) Summit officially opens today at the Ernest N. Morial Convention Center, gathering industry leaders from around the globe for an in-depth discussion on the economic and environmental benefits of using natural gas to displace diesel fuel in high horsepower applications—including marine, rail, mining, drilling, pressure pumping, and stationary power generation. Over the course of HHP Summit, taking place October 6-9, several leading companies are slated to make major industry announcements during conference sessions and debut new products in the expo hall.

"From new LNG production plants to off-road transportation deployment projects, hundreds of millions of dollars are being invested in natural gas HHP projects throughout North America," said GNA CEO Erik Neandross of Gladstein, Neandross & Associates, the clean transportation and energy consulting firm that produces the conference. "Since its inception, and especially now given the incredible advancement in the industry, the HHP Summit has served as the official meeting place for high horsepower industry stakeholders to share insights from early adopter projects, discuss opportunities to collaborate on infrastructure and technology advancements, and to drive real, tangible progress in the natural gas market."

HHP Summit 2014 program highlights include:

  • Keynote addresses: HHP Summit 2014 will commence on October 7 with keynote addresses from Tana Utley, vice president of large power systems with Caterpillar on Tuesday, October 7 followed by a keynote address from Lorraine Bolsinger, president and CEO of GE's Distributed Power on Wednesday, October 8.
