A Calgary Twist on Thanksgiving

CALGARY, ALBERTA--(Marketwired - Oct. 12, 2014) - Craig Conroy, Calgary Flames Assistant General Manager, and a group of neighbours in Kensington are coming together today to throw a block party, play a little street hockey and support the Missing Children Society of Canada (MCSC).

Every year at MCSC's Raise Hope Fundraiser, Craig Conroy offers his time and skills for an auction package that includes an afternoon of street hockey. This year's winners, the Tuer family, decided to include their whole neighbourhood in the fun. Turning the event into a block party, the Tuer's invited their friends, family and neighbours out to see if they can go toe-to-toe with a hockey great and celebrate the innovative work of MCSC.

This unique and philanthropic way to spend Thanksgiving Sunday is a wonderful twist on tradition, and very in keeping with the Calgary spirit. The Missing Children Society of Canada is giving Thanks to that Calgary spirit today!
