DAYTON, Ohio, Oct. 20, 2014 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- On October 1, MacAulay-Brown, Inc. (MacB), a leading National Security company delivering advanced engineering services and product solutions to Defense, Intelligence, Special Operations Forces, Homeland Security and Federal agencies, opened its doors to the local community to celebrate more than 35 years of doing business in the Dayton-area.
The Oktoberfest-themed event was well attended by customers, partners, local politicians and business leaders. Speaking with several fellow attendees, the Mayor of Beavercreek, Brian Jarvis, said, "With access to Wright-Patterson Air Force Base, exceptional schools and a favorable business climate, the Dayton-area is an excellent place for defense contractors to grow and succeed. I enjoyed learning more about MacB, and salute the entire team for their tireless efforts that directly support the defense of our great Nation."
Visitors were on hand to see the innovative technology the company has developed over the past three decades. In addition, MacB showcased several of its unique product solutions that the Nation will rely on over the next decade and beyond. A sample of the MacB product solutions included:
Trust Solutions for FPGAs and ASICs: With increased pressure to ensure defense systems achieve Trusted Systems and Networks (TSN) status, MacB's Trust solutions make sure that microelectronic devices, firmware and third-party IP do only what they are designed to do… no more, no less.
Antenna Positioner: Customized low profile antenna positioners incorporate GPS, tilt sensor and digital compass with a secure cloud-based interface to ensure extreme accuracy. Signal survey/sweep features in the software make it easy to use the positioner for custom frequency scans, making it the ideal choice for tracking and communications missions.
Persistent Surveillance Sensor Solutions: In-house development of unique surveillance sensor product solutions to collect actionable intelligence over long periods of time. Customized to blend into the environment, the remotely operated systems can include ultra-sensitive digital cameras and highly sensitive motion and listening capabilities.
Information-theoretic Solutions: With the global proliferation of advanced electronics and weaponry, the future of military advantage lies in being better informed and making better decisions than any adversary. MacB is applying information-theoretic techniques to optimize all aspects of sensors and processing to deliver that advantage now.
Sensor Data Management System (SDMS): Applications were demonstrated to allow the Multi-INT sensor research community to better collaborate and share data. The SDMS system supports Big Data, multiple sensor collections with sensor models, calibration and distribution of complex data/metadata supporting sensor exploitation and algorithm development.
"A little more than 35 years ago, MacB was founded to develop next generation Electronic Warfare systems for the Air Force," said Tim Lawrence, Senior Vice President and General Manager of MacB's Advanced Technology Group. "Since then, we have significantly expanded our capabilities and have grown to more than 1,500 employees with offices throughout the country. However, the culture of designing and developing the best technology solutions for our customers remains, and is something we were incredibly proud to showcase to all those who attended our Open House."
