Rightside Launches .ARMY, .AIRFORCE, and .NAVY for Armed Forces Communities

New Web Domains Available for Members of the Military, Their Families, and Veterans' Groups

KIRKLAND, Wash., Oct. 23, 2014 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Rightside Group, Ltd. (Nasdaq:NAME), a leading provider of domain name services that advance the way businesses and consumers define and present themselves online, announced the launch of military TLDs .ARMY, .AIRFORCE, and .NAVY. These new Top Level Domains (TLDs) offer the opportunity for members of the armed forces, as well as military families, supporters, veterans, and veterans' support groups to own succinct, meaningful web addresses. The new TLDs represent a special place on the internet where members and supporters of the military can band together with others who have a shared experience.

As part of the domain launch activities and in celebration of those who have served, Rightside is making a charitable donation to Team Rubicon, a group of military veterans who partner with first responders to provide disaster relief. Bridging the gap between military and civilian life, Team Rubicon provides veterans with a means to build community and leadership by serving with others during the crucial window following a disaster.

"The Rightside team is thrilled to launch domain names geared for our men and women in uniform, their family members, veterans, and support groups, and to stand in solidarity with the armed forces community," said Taryn Naidu, Rightside CEO. "As an extension of these efforts, we also want to recognize the work of Team Rubicon and its commitment to our veterans."

The launch of .ARMY, .AIRFORCE, and .NAVY is part of a broader internet expansion that is providing a means for people to create and join online communities based on their professions and shared interests. These domains connect people and businesses by building an identity through distinctive web and email addresses. New alternatives to legacy extensions are helping organizations and individuals find new ways to express themselves and be discovered online.

On Veterans Day, to be observed this year on Nov. 11, Rightside's registrar partner GoDaddy will host a home-page promotion for the new TLDs. As of October 22, 2014, people can find and secure the web and email addresses that best express their commitment to service.
