Established in 1998, the Georgia CIO of the Year® Awards is the premier technology executive recognition program of its kind. This annual event honors chief information officers and those in equivalent positions who have demonstrated excellence in technology leadership at Georgia's top organizations. Award finalists are recognized in six categories: Global, Enterprise, Corporate, Non-Profit / Public Sector, Emerging, and Lifetime Achievement.
Musgrave is a finalist in the Global category. He joined Americold in 2011 and has been instrumental in the integration of systems of Americold's largest acquisition after the company purchased Versacold in 2010.
"I am honored to be included among the finalists for this prestigious award, especially considering the rich backgrounds of all the nominees," said Musgrave. "The recognition, however, really belongs to the entire supply chain technology team at Americold, and I am proud to dedicate my nomination to this group – the best in the industry."
Musgrave also has continued to drive the evolution of IT platforms at Americold, enhancing significantly the solutions the company provides customers and the platforms on which the temperature-controlled warehouse network operates. Most important, Musgrave's leadership has transformed Americold's i-3PL inventory management system – the company's customer portal for complete visibility, management and reporting of inventory – enabling tremendous differentiation from other providers. The next generation of i-3PL, to be released in the coming months, will further enrich the opportunities for supply chain control for the company's customers.
"Tom is a visionary and an inspiring technology innovator, and we at Americold equally appreciate his abilities as a business leader," said Fred Boehler, President and Chief Operating Officer of Americold. "He brings an insatiable appetite to initiate efficiency and advancement for our customers, and this dedication and determination drive success across all channels where Americold does business."
