WAYNE, PA--(Marketwired - Nov 14, 2014) - Medecision, the leader in population health management solutions for risk-bearing entities like provider- and payer-sponsored ACOs, hospitals, IDNs and health plans, has announced today it has extended its partnership with customer, Baystate Health, to launch the health system's TechSpring Innovation Center, a collaborative initiative enabling the development, testing and piloting of emerging technologies to improve health outcomes in Western Massachusetts. As one of the founding sponsors of the collaborative, Medecision will innovate, incubate and pilot new technologies, including, most immediately, Aerial™ InCircle, its social-networking application for consumer engagement and care team connection and collaboration.
In TechSpring, Medecision will work alongside IBM, Premier and Careport Health to deploy applications and business processes throughout the Baystate Health network that liberate data, better engage consumers, improve outcomes and drive down costs. Medecision will collaborate with Baystate Health's providers, members and patient advocates to research, design, develop and test new applications in real-world healthcare environments and drive continual innovation.
"We are thrilled to be partnered with Medecision and our industry sponsors to put innovation to work in service of better health outcomes for people here in our community and across the nation," said Joel L. Vengco, vice president of Information and Technology and chief information officer, Baystate Health.
Medecision will immediately test, develop and launch Aerial InCircle, which enables patients, their family members, caregivers and physicians to all better engage in the patient's care through social networking. Additionally, Medecision's research and design team will work with Baystate Health via TechSpring to deploy and optimize future applications to meet the growing needs of the health system's population.
"Medecision is committed to leading the industry transformation through the development of innovative technologies to connect care," said Deb Gage, president and chief executive officer, Medecision. "Our investment in TechSpring is an exciting next step in our continued commitment to explore new ways to accelerate innovation that improves the health of communities we serve across the US."
