Jewish Federation and Jewish Community Foundation Bring "ABOUT FACE" Exhibit on "Yitzhak Rabin, His Life and Legacy" to the East Bay This Week

BERKELEY, CA--(Marketwired - Dec 1, 2014) - Yitzhak Rabin's teachings have become a rallying cry for peace, pluralism, and a return to the Zionist values upon which Israel was founded. From December 4-10, the Jewish Federation of the East Bay and the Jewish Community Foundation will bring an artful assemblage of photographs, media accounts and statements by Israel academics, journalists and political leaders through the "ABOUT FACE: Yitzhak Rabin, His Life and Legacy" exhibition.

"We are working directly with the Dror Israel Kibbutz movement to bring this outstanding exhibition to the United States for the first time. Members of the movement will be the docents for the exhibit," said Rabbi James Brandt, CEO, Jewish Federation of the East Bay and the Jewish Community Foundation. "Admission is free and open to the public and we encourage the general community to join us to learn about Rabin's teachings as well as the political divisions that led to his assassination in 1995."

The exhibit will be on display at the following locations:

• Thursday, December 4 (7 - 9 pm) - Berkeley Hillel, 2736 Bancroft Way, Berkeley
• Sunday, December 7 (4 - 7 pm) - Cong. Beth El, 1301 Oxford St., Berkeley
• Tuesday, December 9 (7 - 9 pm) - Temple Beth Abraham, 327 MacArthur Blvd., Oakland
• Wednesday, December 10 (7 - 9 pm) - Congregation B'nai Shalom, 74 Eckley Lane, Walnut Creek
  
  

The "ABOUT FACE" exhibit is produced by the young educators of the Dror Israel Kibbutz movement, and has been presented across Israel as a living memorial to Prime Minister Rabin. The Dror Israel movement is a pioneer Zionist movement of educators that work in all sectors of society to strengthen faith in man and action in society and to actualize the values of equality, social alliance and social responsibility.
