OpenADR Alliance's Barry Haaser Appointed to Department of Commerce Committee


MORGAN HILL, CA, CALIF., Dec. 2, 2014 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- The OpenADR Alliance, a nonprofit corporation created to foster the development, adoption, and compliance of the Open Automated Demand Response (OpenADR) smart grid standard, today announced Barry Haaser, managing director, was appointed to the Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency Advisory Committee reporting to The Secretary of Commerce Penny Pritzker. Haaser was appointed effective immediately through June 12, 2016 as a representative of the OpenADR Alliance. Committee members will provide consensus advice on the development and administration of programs and policies to expand U.S. renewable energy and energy efficiency exports.

In support of U.S. renewable energy and energy efficiency manufacturers and services providers, the U.S. Department of Commerce has re-established the Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency Advisory Committee (RE &EEAC). The RE &EEAC will advise the Secretary regarding the development and administration of programs and policies to expand the competitiveness of U.S. exports of renewable energy and energy efficiency goods and services, as well as the National Export Initiative (NEI)/NEXT. 
 
NEI/NEXT will help more American companies reach more overseas markets by improving data, providing information on specific export opportunities, working more closely with financing organizations and service providers, and partnering with states and communities to empower local export efforts.
