SAN FRANCISCO, Dec. 3, 2014 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Give2Asia, a San Francisco-based public charity supporting local, charitable groups in Asia, is planning to publish a report on Aceh, Indonesia following the Boxing Day Tsunami. The tsunami, which struck on December 26, 2004, claimed the lives of at least 120,000 people in Indonesia's Aceh province, in addition to areas of Sri Lanka, Thailand, India and elsewhere.
The report, which is expected to be released publicly on December 12, will include information on the legacy of the recovery effort and lessons learned by Give2Asia. Give2Asia support local charitable groups in Indonesia for the recovery effort following the disaster. Total investments by Give2Asia for the recovery in Indonesia, India, Sri Lanka and Thailand totaled $9.7 million over 3 three years.
