AlixPartners Congratulates Holly Etlin on Being Named Woman of the Year in Restructuring by the International Women's Insolvency and Restructuring Confederation

Award recognizes leadership in the restructuring industry

NEW YORK, Dec. 8, 2014 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Holly Etlin, managing director in the Turnaround and Restructuring Services group at global business-advisory firm AlixPartners, today received congratulations from her colleagues for being named "Woman of the Year in Restructuring" by the International Women's Insolvency and Restructuring Confederation (IWIRC), a premier international networking and professional growth organization for women in the restructuring and insolvency industry.

The award was presented to Etlin on Friday during a special IWIRC luncheon at the American Bankruptcy Institute's Winter Leadership Conference in La Quinta, Calif.

"All of us at AlixPartners congratulate Holly on receiving this very prestigious award," said Lisa Donahue, global leader of the Turnaround and Restructuring Services group at AlixPartners. "Besides being an accomplished professional, Holly is an outstanding leader who is passionate about mentoring young professionals and women in the industry. She is an inspiration to all."

Etlin has been with AlixPartners since 2007 and has more than 30 years of experience providing restructuring and reorganization services for companies, their creditors and other stakeholders. She has led some of the most complex cases in the industry, including serving as senior vice president during the restructuring at Borders Group, CEO and chief restructuring officer (CRO) of New Century Financial, CRO and acting CEO of Tanner & Haley, and her current assignment as CFO at RadioShack.

Said Etlin at the awards ceremony: "I am honored that I will be receiving this award, and I accept it not only for myself but on behalf of all the exceptional women in the restructuring field at AlixPartners.  I literally joined AlixPartners because of the women there – people like Lisa Donahue, Becky Roof, recently CFO at Kodak, Carrianne Basler, who held a senior position on the General Motors case, and many others throughout our ranks.   I think the women we have is one of the big reasons for AlixPartners' unique, truly collaborative culture. In addition, I also plan to dedicate the award to the young women throughout our industry.  And my message to them is this:  Don't just 'lean in' when it comes to your careers; jump in, with both feet; get your hands dirty; work as hard as anybody, male or female; be kind to others; and good things will indeed happen."
