Kinepolis Group is building a new cinema complex in Brétigny-sur-Orge (France), 35 kilometres south of Paris. It will be the 36th Kinepolis site in Europe, and the 8th in France.
Kinepolis Group and property developer Immochan have obtained all the necessary licences to build a 10-theatre cinema complex, seating 1,530 people, in Brétigny-sur-Orge near Paris. The development forms part of the new commercial centre Les Promenades de Brétigny. Immochan will be starting construction works in February 2015 and plans to lease a windproof building to Kinepolis that covers a surface area of 6,500m2. Kinepolis will be investing in furnishings and finish. Once the cinema complex is up and running, Kinepolis is expecting some 500,000 visitors per year.
In 2014 Kinepolis already acquired two Spanish cinemas and the Dutch Wolff Bioscopen group (9 sites, cinema projects in Dordrecht and Utrecht). In Breda, too, Kinepolis has plans to build. Moreover, Kinepolis wants to further strengthen its position and is, with this in mind, sizing up additional projects in line with Kinepolis's expansion strategy. Kinepolis wants to introduce its concept in new markets and new target audiences, thereby also creating added value for its stakeholders.
