CHICAGO, Jan. 21, 2015 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Paul Winum, Ph.D., ABPP will address the Society of Consulting Psychology (SCP) Midwinter Conference on Friday, February 6 in a session on the topic of "Fit to Consult to Boards" that will focus on how consulting psychologists can help boards move from good to great. Dr. Winum will present findings from RHR International's "Great Boards" program of research. "Responsible boards and the directors who serve on them are very interested in continually improving their effectiveness," says Dr. Winum. "I'm looking forward to sharing the findings of our firm's research and seven decades of experience in helping boards do just that."
Dr. Winum will provide those in attendance with fresh perspectives on the best practices shown by the studies to be most effective in fostering an effective board consultation process. Afterwards, participants will share their consulting experiences and discuss how the new findings can help them promote seamless board improvements within their client organizations.
Dr. Winum is a Senior Partner with RHR International and serves as Practice Leader – Board and CEO Services. He has published numerous articles and is a regular contributor to the Wall Street Journal, Fortune and Forbes. In 2007, he was awarded specialty board certification in Organizational and Business Consulting Psychology by the American Board of Professional Psychology and was elected as a Fellow of the American Psychological Association. A past President of the American Psychological Association's business consultation society, he also served two terms as a member of the editorial board of the Consulting Psychology Journal. Dr. Winum received his Ph.D. and master's degrees from the University of Notre Dame in Counseling Psychology and a bachelor's degree concentrating in Sociology and Psychology from Columbia University.
