BUFFALO GROVE, IL--(Marketwired - Jan 23, 2015) - CORPAK MedSystems, Inc. is pleased to announce completion of a distribution agreement in the U.S. and U.K. with Ubimed for its LIFENEST® Sleep System in the hospital market. LIFENEST is a unique and ingenious woven cradle offering diverse applications for the neonatal (NICU) setting.
LIFENEST is specifically designed to help prevent pressure ulcers and positional Plagiocephaly, reduce the risk of rebreathing and hospital acquired infections (HAIs), while also improving the efficiency of phototherapy treatment and newborn temperature control. The LIFENEST helps reduce babies' stay in the NICU and speeds sending them home to their families, where they belong, as confirmed by Dr. Simmons in a recent Cedars Sinai Center Press release.
Dr. Jose Bensoussan, President of UBIMED, said, "We are very excited to have CORPAK as a key partner for increasing access for LIFENEST in the NICU/PICU. The LIFENEST Sleeping System was specifically designed for babies' safety, comfort, and hygiene."
"CORPAK's emphasis is on introducing innovative products, developed both internally and from partnerships, that improve clinical outcomes while lowering overall costs," according to Frank J. McCaney, CEO of CORPAK, who added, "LIFENEST along with the recent acquisition of the NICU products from Maxter Catheters will enhance our focus on neonatal and pediatric patients."
Tom Kuhn, President/COO for CORPAK, added, "CORPAK originally created the 'Anti-IV' or AIV product category targeted at reducing tubing misconnections in the NICU. LIFENEST continues our legacy of providing pioneering safety products to this critical patient population."
