NEW YORK, Feb. 10, 2015 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Today, SeriousFun Children's Network (seriousfunnetwork.org) announced the star-studded lineup for their New York City Gala taking place on Monday, March 2, 2015, at 7:00 pm at Avery Fisher Hall at Lincoln Center. The Gala will honor the legacy of SeriousFun founder Paul Newman, and will feature appearances and performances by Aloe Blacc, George Clooney, Danny DeVito, Renée Fleming, Tom Hanks, Carole King, Meryl Streep, SeriousFun Campers, and more to be announced.

The evening will benefit the SeriousFun Children's Network, a growing global community of 30 camps and programs serving children living with serious illnesses and their families, always free of charge. Founded by Paul Newman in 1988, SeriousFun has served more than 518,000 children and families from more than 50 countries since its inception. Each member camp is an independent not-for-profit organization dependent upon private funding to serve all children at no cost to their families.

Individual show tickets for the New York Gala may be purchased through the Avery Fisher Hall website (http://lc.lincolncenter.org/) and range in price from $35 to $250. Exclusive benefit tickets, including an after-party begin at $1,500 and are available for purchase through the SeriousFun office at 646-480-6194.

In addition to the New York Gala, SeriousFun has announced galas in Los Angeles on May 14, 2015, and London on November 3, 2015. The events are all part of a year-long celebration of Paul Newman's legacy during what would have been his 90th year. Newman's Own Foundation, a generous and long-standing supporter of the camps and programs around the world, will serve as signature sponsor for the galas. The New York, Los Angeles and London galas will be produced by Lou Adler and Kevin Duncan.

Funds raised at the galas will directly benefit the Network's camps and programs. Facilities and programming at SeriousFun camps are specially-designed to fit the medical conditions of campers, ensuring that all campers can participate in activities, such as soaring down a zipline, exploring ropes courses, cultivating creativity with arts and crafts, bonding over music, and s'mores at campfires.
