Smart Card Alliance Invites Speaking Proposals for 14th Annual Government Conference Coming in June

PRINCETON JUNCTION, N.J., Feb. 17, 2015 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- The Smart Card Alliance Government Conference, the leading event for identity and security, is coming to Washington D.C. for the 14th year with comprehensive coverage of efforts toward strong authentication technology in government identity programs. The Smart Card Alliance is currently welcoming speaking proposals for the June conference that relate to the theme of "Smart Strategies for Secure Identity." Previously held in the fall, the 14th Annual Smart Card Alliance Government Conference will move to June 9-10 for 2015 and be held at the Walter E. Washington Convention Center in Washington, D.C. The conference will feature more than 75 government and industry leaders speaking on Personal Identity Verification (PIV) credentials, government-focused efforts in the National Strategy for Trusted Identities in Cyberspace (NSTIC) initiative, trusted ID on mobile devices, developments in state and local ID programs and global trends in secure identification. The Transglobal Secure Collaboration Program (TSCP), the collaborative forum of worldwide stakeholders in the defense industry to address security issues, will be co-locating their annual meeting along with the Government Conference. The conference program advisory committee is looking for vendor-neutral, educational presentations that focus on government-led policy and infrastructure changes for enhanced security for physical and network (logical) access, trusted identities or healthcare information technology. Examples of topics that the program committee will consider include:

  • Technology: Identity credentials using smart card or secure chip technology, mobile identity credentials, ICAM access control hardware and software, PKI authentication, identity management, biometrics
  • Use Cases: Federal and state government PIV and PIV-I, commercial identity verification (CIV), NSTIC, Internet and mobile identity authentication, identity/access programs
  • Healthcare: Health ID and security, medical record security, EBT – both uses cases and technology
  • International ID: Government-issued citizen ID, consumer ID initiatives, healthcare
  • Emerging Trends: Mobile identity authentication, identity management policy, cloud computing, emerging market trends
