CLEARWATER, Fla., March 19, 2015 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Tech Data Corporation (Nasdaq:TECD) today announced that it has appointed Pete Peterson to senior vice president, Business Development and promoted Marty Bauerlein to senior vice president, U.S. Sales, effective April 1, 2015.
In his new global role, Peterson will be responsible for new vendor partner acquisition and diversification opportunities. He will report directly to Bob Dutkowsky, chief executive officer. Bauerlein will lead the strategic direction of the company's IT VAR customer channel and relationships in the U.S., while proactively developing new growth opportunities for Tech Data and its channel partners across both traditional and new business models. Additionally, Bauerlein will lead the development and execution of the U.S. Sales plan, aligning with the company's strategy and objectives. He will report directly to Joe Quaglia, president, the Americas.

Peterson has been with Tech Data since 1996, most recently serving as senior vice president, U.S. Sales since May 2010. He was named Tech Data's Vice President of the Year in 2001, was recognized as a Channel Chief by CRN in 2011, and received a Florida Multicultural Leadership Award from the Florida Diversity Council in 2013. An active member of the community, Peterson serves on the Board of Directors for Junior Achievement of Tampa Bay and Academy Prep Center of St. Petersburg. He holds a B.S. in Accounting from Tuskegee University and an M.B.A. from Florida State University.
An 11-year veteran of the company, Bauerlein most recently served as vice president, U.S. VAR Sales since May 2010. Prior to joining Tech Data in 2004, Bauerlein was with Ingram Micro for 11 years. In 2011, he received Tech Data's Vice President of the Year award and was named to CRN's Channel Chief list in 2014. Active in organizations both within and outside the technology distribution industry, Bauerlein chairs a team at Tech Data that has raised more than $600,000 for several charities through annual fundraisers. He holds a B.S.B.A. in Marketing from Fredonia State University.
