BEIJING, March 24, 2015 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- (China Content Broadcasting Network Exhibition – Radisson "Blu" Beijing) -- Entropic (Nasdaq:ENTR), a world leader in semiconductor solutions for the connected home, announced today the company's fourth generation Multimedia over Coax Alliance (MoCA®) 1.1 solution has been selected by Coship to serve the China home networking market. By adding MoCA to its product offerings, Coship is enabling Chinese service providers to offer more advanced services that leverage the extremely reliable, high throughput connection that is offered by Entropic's MoCA technology.
The MoCA solution enables a complete multimedia coaxial networking solution for at home distribution of multiple streams of high definition (HD) and Ultra HD audio/video, voice and broadband data and has been designed into Coship's G1200 MoCA-enabled gateway and the MC1000W MoCA to Wi-Fi extender. MoCA provides a high-performance, robust communication infrastructure using existing home coaxial cables without the need for new wiring.
Coship's new MoCA-based products enable MSOs to move to a gateway-client architecture in the home to address the growing need for subscriber applications such as multi-room DVR, IP Video-on-demand, and broadband extension throughout the home.
"MoCA is becoming a key-feature for cable customer premise equipment," said Zero Wang, general manager of Digital Home Group, Coship. "Entropic is the recognized leader of MoCA, having pioneered the standard and driven innovation over multiple generations of the technology. Entropic is a natural MoCA partner and we are excited to work together to bring a portfolio of MoCA products to our cable operator customers."
"China's cable operators recognize the need for a reliable home networking backbone to connect multiple devices, both wired and wireless," said Al Servati, vice president Marketing, Entropic. "With a MoCA home network, Coship's customers will be able to offer exciting value added features and services to their subscribers'."
