SAN DIEGO, CA--(Marketwired - Apr 15, 2015) - Mike Coomes has joined CyberUnited as a Senior Vice President of Strategy and Development. CyberUnited is a top cybersecurity intelligence consulting firm providing enterprise IT security consulting services and solutions. In one of his first moves at the company he will be opening an East coast office in Columbia, Maryland. Coomes will oversee all business development for the company as well assisting with the strategic direction for all consulting services and solutions.

Prior to joining CyberUnited, Coomes was Director of International Cyber Security and Internet Governance for Department of Defense. There he developed cooperative cybersecurity agreements between allied and partner nations, developed cybersecurity capability development plans and developed a cybersecurity resource guide to aid partners and allies with reference to best practices, training and standards for cybersecurity.
In addition, Mr. Coomes was the national Chair for NATO's Information Assurance and Cyber Defense Capability Panel. Mr. Coomes was previously a career naval officer, a NATO staff officer and was also a Naval Attaché.
Mike received a degree in East Asian Studies from the University of Kansas and a Masters in National Security Studies from the Naval Postgraduate School.
