Concurrent Technologies Corporation Recognized as a 2015 Best for Vets Employer by Military Times

JOHNSTOWN, Pa., April 21, 2015 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Concurrent Technologies Corporation (CTC) announced today that it has once again been recognized as a "Best for Vets" Employer by Military Times. 2015 marks the fifth time that CTC has been named to the prestigious list, which recognizes companies that are a good fit for military veterans, reservists, and their families.

Military Times (comprised of Army Times, Navy Times, Air Force Times, and Marine Corps Times) invited companies from across the U.S. to complete a rigorous, nearly 90-question survey about their efforts to recruit employees connected to the military; their company policies related to veterans, reservists and their families; and the organization's culture. In 2015, more companies than ever before responded to the Best for Vets: Employer survey (in 2014, there were over 1,000 nominees). Only 74 companies were chosen for the 2015 list, and CTC ranked at number 25.

"We place a high value on attracting and retaining exceptional employees, and we are especially pleased that our team of professionals includes many current and former members of the U.S. Armed Forces," said Edward J. Sheehan, Jr., CTC President & Chief Executive Officer.  "These individuals have earned our nation's respect and admiration, and CTC has and will continue to benefit from hiring veterans. Their work ethic is second to none, and their hands-on experience and leadership bring incredible value to the projects we do for the U.S. military, the Department of Defense, and U.S. Government agencies, as well as non-government clients."

During the past year, 24% of CTC's new employees were veterans, and vets make up 15% of the company's workforce.  CTC goes above and beyond policies and procedures in its commitment to hiring veterans and active duty military members. CTC is a member of the 100,000 Jobs Mission, a coalition of over 190 companies committed to hiring 100,000 transitioning service members and military veterans by 2020. This goal has already been exceeded, with 217,344 veterans being hired as of December 31, 2014, and the new commitment is 300,000 veterans hired by 2020. CTC earned the Missouri "Flag of Freedom" award, and it's been recognized by the Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve (ESGR) with awards including the Extraordinary Employer Support Award, Above and Beyond Award, the Liberty Bell Award, the Patriot Award, the Pro-Patria Award, and the Seven Seals Award.
