SANTA CLARA, Calif., May 1, 2015 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Leading LCD supplier Tianma Microelectronics USA has introduced two new TFT LCDs with high brightness LED backlights for use in marine, aviation, HMI and other outdoor applications requiring outstanding readability in direct sunlight. Available in 4.3" and 7.0" diagonal sizes, the modules feature high intensity backlight design with high luminance, high resolution, and low power consumption.
The 4.3" (480 x 272) module utilizes a 4-wire resistive touch panel. Luminance is rated at 800 cd/m2, with a contrast ratio of 800:1. The 7.0" (800 x 480) module features a Projected Capacitive (PCAP) touch solution with perimeter bond. Luminance for the 7.0" is rated at 1,000 cd/m2, with a contrast ratio of 500:1. The high brightness and contrast levels combine to make both displays truly outdoor-viewable.
The modules feature an RGB interface and are driven by a standard MCU for easy integration into users' end products. They provide excellent visual performance and superior viewing angles at a competitive cost. Both of these displays come from the factory with touch installed and covered by the full factory warranty.
The modules will be on display at Display Week 2015 at the McHenry Convention Center in San Jose, California, June 2-4, in Tianma's Booth 719.
