Violent crime expert to keynote 25th annual school policing conference


HOOVER, Ala., May 6, 2015 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- One of the world's foremost experts in the field of human aggression and the roots of violence and violent crime will provide a keynote address at the annual conference of the National Association of School Resource Officers (NASRO). Retired Lt. Col. Dave Grossman, U.S. Army (Ret.), will open NASRO's 25th annual School Safety Conference, which takes place July 5-10, 2015, at the Rosen Shingle Creek Resort in Orlando, Florida. The Florida Association of School Resource Officers (FASRO) will host the conference.

Grossman is an internationally recognized scholar, author, solider and speaker, as well as one of the nation's leading law-enforcement trainers. Author of the book, "On Killing," he has served as a trainer and keynote speaker for all major national and international law-enforcement training organizations. He has taught the representatives of thousands of federal and regional agencies in the U.S., Canada, New Zealand and Australia.

Last year, 800 people attended the annual NASRO conference, including school resource officers (SROs) and other law enforcement officers, as well as school security and safety officials, school board members, administrators and others interested in school safety.
