TAMPA, FL--(Marketwired - May 14, 2015) - Discreet OEM armored vehicles for any terrain. The most precise suspect identification tool yet. Intense biohazard training that gets even closer to reality. An early warning chem-bio detection for frontline security. Better protection for icy air flights. These are some of the newest, breakthrough technologies that Battelle, the world's leading independent R&D non-profit, will display at SOFIC (Special Operations Forces Industry Conference) in Tampa, Florida May 19-21.
Battelle has a long history of equipping the military, law enforcement and specialty businesses with tools to refine and enhance mission success and clear-eyed analysis. The lab-to-real world uses of Battelle's technologies, in conjunction with its clients, will be on full view to SOFIC attendees.
Among the latest are the new Battelle armored vehicle and ExactID™.
Battelle's armored vehicles are discreet because they retain the OEM appearance, whether Hilux, Land Cruiser and Ford platforms. The vehicles are re-engineered with 360-degree crew protection, enhanced suspension for improved off-road mobility, and a re-enforced chassis for durability.
Battelle also will display ExactID™, the leader in next-generation genomic sequencing bioinformatics, which can help military law enforcement identify missing persons or focus investigators on better suspects through identifying traits such as eye and hair color, ancestry, etc. based on DNA alone. It is the most significant breakthrough in forensic DNA science in 20 years and has been purchased by the Defense Forensic Science Center (formerly the U.S. Army Criminal Investigation Laboratory (USACIL)).
The Battelle technologies to be displayed at SOFIC are:
- Armored Commercial Vehicle: 79 Series Land Cruiser
- BATTELLE Before™ Interactive Trainer: Immersive Training System for Cost-Effective Mission Preparedness
- High Hazards Testing: Energetics and Hazardous Material Testing and Evaluation Services
- BATTELLE REBS™/VCCA: Next Generation Chem-Bio Detection Systems
- BATTELLE HeatCoat™: Active, In-Flight Ice Protection System
This is the 17th SOFIC event in which Battelle has participated. For a hands-on demo of these technologies, visit booth 228 at SOFIC.
