Low VA Rates hosts 5th Annual Charity Golf Tournament; will you dust off your clubs for our nation's veterans?

According to the Congressional Budget Office, in 2013 about 3.5 million of the nation's 22 million veterans received disability compensation. Many veterans, whether disabled or not, are still not getting the help they need.

LINDON, Utah, May 19, 2015 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Amidst a growing number of poorly-run or even fraudulent charity organizations claiming to support veterans, Low VA Rates is looking for a better way to reach veterans. At the start of this year, Low VA Rates invested a substantial amount to establish a Donor-Advised Fund, giving themselves the time and ability to properly evaluate charities before donating to them. To commemorate the 4th of July and to raise money for veteran-oriented charities, Low VA Rates is hosting their 5th annual charity golf tournament on July 9th at the Fox hollow Golf Course in American Fork, Utah.

Although millions of dollars are donated to veteran-oriented charities each year, much of that money never reaches the veterans who need it. Some charities are not transparent about where the money goes, while others are very transparent and use as much of their revenue on veterans as possible. Essentially, not all veteran-oriented charities are created equal. That's why Low VA Rates is providing this opportunity for donors who are interested in helping veterans and working on their golf swing at the same time to know that 100% of their donation will go into a Donor-Advised Fund dedicated exclusively to 501c(3) charities that support either veterans or the military.

The Low VA Rates Foundation Golf Tournament usually raises between $2,000 and $3,500 by the end of the event. That may not seem like much, but it's enough to make a difference in the lives of at least a few military families, and Low VA Rates is looking for ways every year to raise even more.

According to Craig Walton, one of the organizers of the event, Low VA Rates wants each dollar to make as big a difference as possible: "The foundation will donate 100% of the funds to approved 501c3 military charitable organizations. We have not decided which organizations it will be yet, but all the funds will go to helping out military families."

You can still sign up for the tournament by emailing pr@lowvarates.com. They ask for $200 to enter a foursome and also have many sponsorship opportunities available. Sign up and support your nation's heroes today.
