SAN RAFAEL, Calif., June 15, 2015 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- BioMarin Pharmaceutical Inc. (Nasdaq:BMRN) today announced that EY awarded BioMarin CEO Jean-Jacques Bienaimé the EY Entrepreneur Of The Year® 2015 Award in the Health and Life Sciences category in Northern California. The award recognizes outstanding entrepreneurs who demonstrate excellence and extraordinary success in such areas as innovation, financial performance, and personal commitment to their businesses and communities. Jean-Jacques Bienaimé was selected by an independent panel of judges, and the award was presented at a special gala event in San Francisco on June 11.
"It is an honor to receive this award for entrepreneurship on behalf of BioMarin employees and the patients with rare genetic disease who we serve," said Jean-Jacques Bienaimé, CEO of BioMarin. "Our success stems from attracting the best people who share in BioMarin's collective drive and passion to develop medicines that make a big difference for a small number of patients, who often are children with few, if any, treatment options."
