NEWARK, Del., Oct. 4, 2015 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Lavenburg Medical Group is pleased to announce it is turning the page on Botox and now offers Dysport® Wrinkle Treatment for anti-wrinkle and skin tightening concerns. Like Botox, Dysport® is a neuromodulator designed to reduce fine lines and wrinkles. However, instead of "freezing" the facial muscles, Dysport® temporarily relaxes muscle contractions. The doctors at Lavenburg Medical Group believe that this will provide a more natural and youthful appearance for their patients. In addition, the benefits of Dysport® treatments are shown to last as long as Botox treatments, but the benefits typically take effect much more quickly.
Lavenburg Medical Group, with offices in Elkton, Maryland, and Newark, Delaware, has recently made a big change to their in-office cosmetic offering lineup. They have recently switched to offering Dysport® Wrinkle Treatment in place of traditional Botox treatments. Doctors at the medical group made this change in an attempt to offer their patients all the benefits of Botox anti-wrinkle and skin tightening treatments but with a more natural looking correction.
Dr. Douglas J. Lavenburg, of the Lavenburg Medical Group believes this is a move in the right direction for the facility, which also offers eye care and vision correction treatment. Dysport® is able to eliminate fine lines and wrinkles while minimizing the possibility of facial freezing — a phenomenon that Botox is widely known for causing. However, according to Dr. Lavenburg, "The biggest benefit for the patient is actually how quickly you can see the benefits of Dysport®. Patients can expect to see improvement within a matter of days and the longevity of treatment results is thought to be 3 to 4 months, some patient's have experienced results lasting up to 6 months. We think our patients will be very happy with their results."
Dysport® is most highly recommended to treat mild to moderate frown lines between the eyebrows. Treated areas are only on the upper half of the face; Dermal fillers such as Restylane can be successfully used to treat smile lines and other areas of the lower face that begin to loose volume with age.
Dysport® contains botulinum toxin type A as an active ingredient. It is safe when administered in small amounts and in conjunction with other substances. Possible side effects of using Dysport® include: bruising, irritation at injection site, headaches, sore throat, and stuffy nose. The needles used for the injections are very thin, minimizing pain from the injection itself.
In addition to offering state of the art procedures for beauty, the clinic also offers comprehensive eye care including, glaucoma treatments, cataract surgery, refractive surgery, vision correction treatments and more. The Lavenburg Medical Center - DelMar Surgical and Cosmetic Treatment Center have locations in Elkton, Maryland, and Newark, Delaware, and are excited to offer this newer service to the community.
