BOSTON, MA--(Marketwired - November 11, 2015) - RallyPoint and Rasmussen Reports teamed up to conduct a survey of 1,473 military adults between October 25, 2015 and November 2, 2015. A strong plurality in the survey, 38%, responded that transitioning to civilian life poses the most significant challenge to outgoing veterans.
Through RallyPoint, service members and veterans were asked which of the following was the most significant challenge facing transitioning veterans today:
- Transitioning to civilian life -- 38%
- Finding civilian employment -- 24%
- Health care -- 13%
- Post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) -- 9%
- Personal finances -- 9%
- Not sure -- 6%
Within the active military, officers and enlisted service members agreed across the board on the order of challenges this Veterans Day.
Conversely, respondents who identified as Hispanic believe that transitioning to civilian life is a secondary challenge, with twenty six percent (26%) of respondents selecting it as the 'most significant' challenge. Forty two percent (42%) believe finding civilian employment is the most significant challenge.
