Amb. John Bolton to Run 'The Bolton Test' Ads in Four Primary States

The Foundation for American Security and Freedom will place the ads, which are targeted to GOP primary voters

WASHINGTON, Nov. 13, 2015 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Ambassador John Bolton will run full page ads, titled The Bolton Test, in newspapers in the four critical GOP primary states of Iowa, New Hampshire, South Carolina, and Nevada. The advertisements, placed by the Ambassador's nonprofit, The Foundation for American Security and Freedom, will run this Sunday, November 15th, along with online ads that will reach more than 1.5 million digital impressions. Ads will appear in the following newspapers:

  • Iowa: Des Moines Register
  • New Hampshire: New Hampshire Union Leader
  • South Carolina: The State
  • Nevada: Las Vegas Review-Journal

The advertisement, also found here: http://fasfreedom.com/ask-nh/, provides five fundamental questions on national security and foreign policy for Republican primary voters to evaluate the presidential candidates. These questions are:

  1. What is America's proper place in the world?
  2. How does U.S. foreign policy affect domestic policy?
  3. What are the primary threats and opportunities America faces abroad?
  4. How should America respond to those threats and opportunities?
  5. What resources are required for our national defense?

"The President's principle job is to keep our country safe and be ready on day one," Bolton said. "At a time when America's international influence is declining at an ever-faster pace, these questions provide a solid foundation to encourage voters to probe the depth of understanding of their aspiring leaders."

The ad-buy is executed by Ambassador Bolton's 501(c)(4) organization, the Foundation for American Security and Freedom (FASF). FASF also provided a website for voters to submit their own questions for the candidate: http://fasfreedom.com/ask. The top five voter questions will subsequently be posted on Twitter.
