Cayman Alternative Investment Summit Announces 2016 Industry Speakers


GRAND CAYMAN, Cayman Islands , Dec. 14, 2015 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- The Cayman Alternative Investment Summit, which will take place February 4 and 5 at The Ritz-Carlton, Grand Cayman, has announced its industry speaker lineup, which includes John Mauldin, Christopher McChesney, Raoul Pal, Tarun Ramadorai, Anne Richards, Nouriel Roubini and Bruce Zimmerman.

Held at the Ritz-Carlton Grand Cayman, the fourth annual event titled “Alternative Investments: Supercharged” is expected to attract 500-plus executives from prominent pension plans, endowments, family offices, hedge funds and more. The summit provides opportunities for attendees to learn from and network with global alternative investment leaders.

Christopher McChesney is a senior vice president at Brown Brothers Harriman (BBH). Prior to joining BBH, he worked for The Boston Consulting Group where he helped the company expand its footprint in European and Asian markets.

Raoul Pal writes and publishes The Global Macro Investor, an elite macro economic and investment strategy research service for the world’s leading hedge funds, pension funds, banks and sovereign wealth funds. He has 24 years of experience in the financial markets working for investments banks such Goldman Sachs, where he co-managed the hedge fund sales business in equities and equity derivatives, as well as founding and managing a macro hedge fund for GLG Partners, ones of the world’s largest hedge fund firms. Additionally, Pal is the author of “The End Game” which is the most read financial article in the history of the Internet.

Tarun Ramadorai is a Professor of Financial Economics at the Saïd Business School, University of Oxford. His main areas of research interest are asset pricing and asset management, international finance, household finance and the Indian economy. Ramadorai has published extensively on these topics in a range of financial scholarly journals. He has served as an Economic Advisor to the European Securities and Markets Authority, as Honorary Advisor to the National Institute of Public Finance and Policy in New Delhi, and during 2011 and 2012, he was Visiting Scholar at the Economic Advisory Council to the Prime Minister of India.

Anne Richards graduated with a First Class Honours degree in Electronics and Electrical Engineering from the University of Edinburgh. After completing a research fellowship at CERN, the European Organisation for Nuclear Research in Geneva, she spent two years with Cambridge Consultants before taking a year out to study for an MBA at Insead in Fontainebleau, France. She began her city career as an analyst with Alliance Capital in 1992, subsequently moving onto portfolio management, firstly with JP Morgan Investment Management, and then with Mercury Asset Management, later MLIM. Richards is a member of the Board of Leaders of 2020 Women on Boards and is the recipient of the 100 Women in Hedge Funds 2014 European Industry Leadership Award.

Nouriel Roubini is the cofounder and chairman of Roubini Global Economics, an independent, global macroeconomic strategy research firm. The firm’s website, Roubini.com, has been named one of the best economics web resources by BusinessWeek, Forbes, The Wall Street Journal and The Economist. He is also a professor of economics at New York University’s Stern School of Business. From 1998 to 2000, he served as the senior economist for international affairs on the White House Council of Economic Advisors and then the senior advisor to the undersecretary for international affairs at the U.S. Treasury Department, helping to resolve the Asian and global financial crises, among other issues.

Bruce Zimmerman is CEO and Chief Investment Officer of The University of Texas Investment Management Company (UTIMCO). UTIMCO, investing over USD $30 billion, is the nation’s second largest manager of endowments. Prior to joining UTIMCO, Zimmerman was CIO and Global Head of Pension Investments at Citigroup, where he had previously been CFO and Chief Administrative Officer for Citigroup Alternative Investments.
